Galaxy Ace - Bridging The Gap Between High-End & Lower End Nicely

The Samsung Galaxy Ace does not fire on all higher-end smartphone cylinders but still packs enough software and hardware punch to keep the adrenalin and along with real excitement going for its users.

Striking the right balance of features is the key to success here!

The problem, if we may call it so, with any new smartphone that comes with an already established brand name (as it is in this case) lies in the fact that the maker is hard pressed to make the crucial decision of how much to tone down and what all to retain from the original brand (in this case the Samsung Galaxy S).

Well, here, you have to admit, the South Korean mobile phone giant has managed to walk the tight rope and strike a good balance. This we say because, most users will not miss the features that have been intentionally ignored by Samsung for a far more reduced pricing.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace offers just the right mix of aces and is in deed a very attractive phone device that does look and feel like it belongs to the upper grade where the likes of the Apple iPhone and Galaxy S sit.

Shortcoming are few and are those that you will miss greatly!

It is better to concentrate on the few shortcomings that this smartphone suffers from and then go on to the positives. We really do not why. But does give a good feeling if you are able to end anyting on a relatively good note.

So here we go

While the handset does look top class with its premium metallic body that almost make you feel like you are viewing something in the class of the iPhone, the touch sensitive screen is of a slightly low resolution that immediately shows. Though you may pick up the fact that it is a low res touchscreen, all the same, it is not totally lackluster either.

Its 3.2 inches wide TFT touchscreen is most certainly not AMOLED, but all the same with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels it is still not a bad bargain at all. You do get to view all your images, wall papers and video footage in brightness and with ample colour support.

The other lacunae is the Samsung Galaxy Ace does not offer NFC (near field communication  and and SIP calling features that only the latest from Android, the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread version delivers. But realistically speaking, we do not think any present day smartphone user will miss these attractions in the Galaxy Ace. Neither are there any other smartphone device that offers similar attributes at this price.

The Galaxy Ace does not support Flash player either. This means you won't get to view web pages that are rich in graphics. Though having said this, it is very much true that you still have get to view YouTube and several other web links downloaded from the Android market that is slowly but surely catching up with the vast Apple Store.

Positives are many thankfully!

First and foremost is the looks. As mentioned earlier, the Samsung Galaxy Ace is indeed a very stylish and at the same time sophisticated phone. What is more, it is very much on the lighter side weighing a comfy 113 grams only.

The touchscreen as pointed out above is only LCD and not AMOLED. This implies less resolution and clarity. But believe us the 360 x 480 pixels resolution works and most objects that you view on the screen come across pretty clearly and brightly as well. What is more, even the zoom in and zoom out functions constantly to everyone's satisfaction.

But the best features of the Samsung Galaxy Ace has to be is Android web browser. You are really able to load web pages in double quick time and even YouTube opens and you can go forward or backwards the whole day long without the gadget complaining at all. Really, Samsung really seems to have mastered the art of integrating Android nicely onto its hardware!

The 800 MHz single core processor does seem adequate here for the Samsung Galaxy Ace.

The other major aspect of the Galaxy Ace that we are sure users will like greatly is its long and tremendous battery life. Even with the 3G as well as Wi-Fi on, the device is able to keep going for two days.

Lastly the five mega pixel camera is also no push over. And you can obtain crystal clean and clear still images and also indulge in a bit of a video recording. Though all of this in sunlight only. The flash works but still we would recommend you do this creative bit when it is bright outside or there is sufficient light inside.

Prices are irresistible to say the least!

Talk-mobile, T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone and others all offer plenty of Samsung Galaxy Ace contracts and other lucrative Galaxy mobile phone deals. You can get the Galaxy Ace smartphone device for free under any of the several contract phone deals that offer its you against a below £10 per month contract plan.

Need we say more!

The Samsung Galaxy Ace is a smartphone that you will not like to miss in a hurry. The smartphone handset actually deserves more than a second glance and can fulfill quite a few of your higher end smartphone dreams at prices that you have seen that belonged to a different era.
